Eastern Shore Fig Co began with a slower pace of life—and a really good jar of fig butter.

Founder Paula Henao moved to Virginia’s Eastern Shore to step away from the hustle of Virginia Beach and into a chapter of simplicity, creativity, and connection. Italian by heritage and a lifelong lover of cooking, Paula has always expressed love through food—especially by surprising friends with thoughtful, homemade gifts.

One summer, after sharing her fig butter with friends, someone said what everyone else was thinking: “This is so good. You should sell it.”

So she did.

Paula returned to the kitchen, tested and refined her recipe, completed food safety training, and earned VDAC licensure. What started as a heartfelt gift quickly grew into a small-batch business now carried by local artisan shops and vineyards—and available directly to you online.

Eastern Shore Fig Co is proud to support the local Eastern Shore economy, work with regional partners, and celebrate the beauty of seasonal food made well.
